Ut Si Café retires, and Phoenix & the Wolf arises!

Accoladed Chef, Sean Keating, recently left the award winning Josef Chromy Vineyards to embark on a new chapter in his hugely successful culinary career.

Reopening the quaint & popular pretty little church at Perth (just 12 mins. from Launceston) formerly known as Ut Si Café, Sean has reinvented the property as a paleo driven culinary outpost named 'Phoenix & the Wolf".

Despite the rigours & testing times of opening a new venue & welcoming another brand new baby into the world, Sean seems to have landed in his "special place".
I sensed a calm, relaxed & happy man, one who was thrilled to be extending his repertoire to the 'soft in & on the hands' art of bread making.

Sean will constantly change his menu to highlight fresh local Tasmanian produce & ethically raised meat to take his guests on a visual & culinary adventure.
Damien Webber, front of house & horticulturist, has established a garden on site, the produce providing another source of the freshest of fresh local produce. Phoenix & the Wolf is set to become a 'unique & bucket list must' for food lovers and together with creative & innovative future plans, expect some exciting times ahead.

Sean's philosophy: "Earth to plate ... anything is possible' And now to the offerings - blackboard specials & menu options :)

Above: A delicious breakfast of mini crumpets, Thommy bacon, fried bananas in their skins, almond butter & maple - a real fave from the menu.

Above - from the Charcuterie - A generous mound of rich & creamy, mousse like Chicken Liver Parfait - accompanied by fruit condiments, relish, freshly baked sourdough & baby roasted tomatoes. This filled me up for the rest of the day.

And lastly, a Vegan Cookie - from a vast selection of cookies & cupcakes.
A wide selection of organic beverages & soda pops provide enough variety to suit all whims.
